Meet Ric Cunningham
Born and raised in a musically rich household in a small New England town, Ric Cunningham’s passion for music was nurtured from an early age. His father, a music instructor, filled the house with enriching sounds—whether it was band rehearsals, private lessons, or recorded tracks that sparked his love for rhythm and melody.
Ric pursued his formal education in music, first at West Chester University for Classical Music and later at the renowned Berklee College of Music, immersing himself in Jazz and Contemporary styles under the tutelage of world-renowned instructor Joe Viola. After obtaining a B.S. in Music Education, Ric’s heart led him to live performing and recording, eventually establishing a dynamic career playing alongside artists like Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Mat ‘Guitar’ Murphy (Blues Brothers), and legendary R&B singer Joe Cocker during worldwide tours.
Over the years, Ric has composed music for television, commercials, film, and even crafted the themes for MTVSports and NBC Olympics. Currently based in Fort Lauderdale, Ric has embraced his solo career, blending Smooth Jazz and Modern Lounge styles, and gaining attention for his debut CD “Adventures in the Modern Lounge”, with a follow-up album already underway.
